Over time, I developed a desire to own knives that were not only very nice looking and well made, but also would hold their edge for a very long time. While getting my university degree in technical editing, I began to delve deeper into metallurgy, the science of machining and manufacturing technology. My goal was to finally build the knives I had always wanted myself.

In 2018, thanks to a fantastic knife community who supported me from basically day one, my efforts resulted in a side business first, and then in 2020 knife making became my full time profession.

True to my principle of “aesthetic meets performance” I'm crafting custom knives from steels with a hardness of up to 70+ HRC, which are significantly harder than glass but still very tough. All that packaged in super tight Swiss tolerances, high end finishing and the most strict (if not obsessive) quality control. My self-developed heat treatment which includeds several cryogenic cyclesat -190°C and wet grinding from solid stock under flood cooling after hardening enable a seemingly impossible combination of hardness and toughness.

I use only state-of-the-art materials like powder metallurgical steels, high-quality composites, stabilized woods, and modern means of processing. All knives are hand built by me personally, without CNC machines, in my workshop in Switzerland.

The heat treatment of a single blade can require up to three days excluding the cryo cycles. Grinding the ultra-hard blades under flood cooling after hardening often takes several hours per blade. I shy no expense when it comes to making a knife like I would want to own it myself.

The Pareto Principle does not interest me. What appeals to me is getting the last 1% of performance out of every single blade.
